Quartet Performs For Movie Stars at Christmas
Place: Mankas Inverness Lodge Time: Christmas Eve Need: Unique Entertainment Solution: The MarinTones quartet
Who did the most exclusive restaurant in Marin call when they wanted unique upscale entertainment for their Christmas Eve dinner? They called the MarinTones, known for their sharp and entertaining barbershop quartet style.
The MarinTones sang on Christmas Eve at Manka’s Inverness Lodge, one of the top restaurants in the Bay Area, as well as the country (Zagat recently rated it #4 in the US). Mankas has served guests ranging from Prince Charles to movie stars.
The quartet, dressed in their festive red chef’s jackets with black buttons, sang as guests arrived at the hunting lodge transformed to an elegant restaurant.
Once the guests were seated, the quartet entertained tableside between courses.
Among the guests were stars of stage and screen, Jake Gyllenhall (Brokeback Mountain), sister Maggie (Mona Lisa Smile) and her fiancée Peter Sarsgaard (Jarhead), and their extended family.
At the end of their first set, the guests shouted for “more” so an encore was performed.
Between sets, Maggie said her family enjoyed The MarinTones so much they wished for both an encore and a family favorite carol. It turned into two additional sets including the non-Christmas song, “Breakin’ up is hard to do,” which received cheers.
The MarinTones filled the air with song again as patrons departed, and on their way out, guests exclaimed that the MarinTones had made their evening!
The MarinTones are available to sing for dinners and other special events in the San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond. Contact us for your next event!
